About Beneath Her Mantle
Beneath Her Mantle is a Catholic teaching journal — a quiet, unhurried space to explore the faith in all its depth and beauty.
The name comes from an image as old as the Church itself. Mary, arms open, mantle spread wide, gathering her children underneath. It is an image of protection, of belonging, of coming home. That is what this space is meant to feel like.
Here you will find reflections on the life and person of Jesus Christ — the center of everything, the reason for all of it. You will find teachings rooted in Scripture and Tradition, the two pillars on which the Catholic faith has always stood. You will find devotions, history, the witness of the saints, the prayers of the Church, and the story of Our Lady — who she is, what she has done across the centuries, and why she continues to matter.
This journal is for everyone. The cradle Catholic and the newly converted. The deeply devoted and the quietly curious. The one who knows every word of the Catechism and the one who is only just beginning to ask questions. Wherever you are in your journey, you belong here.
The author writes anonymously, under the name Margaret Mary. The identity behind these words is not the point. The faith is — ancient, alive, and endlessly worth knowing.
Come in. Stay as long as you like. She'll keep the light on.
